Symptom:
While installing a USB connected printer, the driver stops with the following error;
This computer does not have the necessary USB software support to allow completion of a USB installation.
Cause:
For whatever reason, the USBReady.exe file can’t properly perform a USB detection.
Solution:
Go into the temp directory where the driver is unpacked and rename/delete the USBReady.exe file, then re-run the setup.
The temp directory is generally located in C:\users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\ and then the HP unpacked files are typically in a directory starting with “7z…”. Go into that directory, then the SETUP directory and delete/rename the USBready.exe file.
Now go back/up one folder and run the Setup.exe file to restart the setup. Now the setup program won’t give you this error anymore.
